Welcome Message

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

The Chinese Society of Toxicology is honored, jointly with the Asian Society of Toxicology, to organize the 9thInternational Congress of Asian Society of Toxicology (ASIATOX-IX) from October 20-23, 2021, in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, P. R. China. The congress theme is “The Asia Toxicology in Big Data Era: from Public Health to Environmental Safety”. On behalf of the Asian Society of Toxicology and the Chinese Society of Toxicology, we are pleased to invite you to attend the ASIATOX-IX in October 20-23, 2021.

ASIATOX Congress was sponsored by the Asian Society of Toxicology, the first congress was held in 1997 in Yokohama, Japan, and since then eights congresses has already been hosted, in turn, by the member societies of ASIATOX. In ASIATOX-VIII (2018, Thailand), the Council of Asian Society of Toxicology has passed a resolution to change the interval time of organizing the International Congress of ASIATOX from every three years to two years. ASIATOX Congress(2020) is an important academic event in the field of toxicology in Asia, and will bring ASIATOX family together again two years after the successful ASIATOX-VIII (2018). We believe that the ASIATOX-IX will provide an excellent platform to promote the prosperity and development of toxicological science & technology in Asia, and foster the scientific cooperation in Asia, pacific region and the world.

Hangzhou, the ASIATOX-IX venue, is located in the northern part of Zhejiang province on the north bank of the Qiantang River estuary at the head of Hangzhou Bay. The city has a past over 2,200 years and is one of the eight ancient capitals of China. Hangzhou stands at the eastern foot of a scenic range of hills, the Tianmu (“Eye of Heaven”) Mountains, and on the shore of the notable Xi-Hu (West Lake), celebrated in poetry and paintings for its beauty and a favorite imperial retreat. The West Laker is listed as a World Heritage Site in 2011 by UNESCO (China's World Heritage Site Lists), is described as “has influenced garden design in the rest of China as well as Japan and Korea over the centuries” and “reflecting an idealized fusion between humans and nature”. Hangzhou’s architecture and gardens are renowned, while Lingyan Temple in the city is considered one of the most famous Buddhist temples in China. Hangzhou is also a national center of higher education.

The congress academic activities of ASIATOX-IX will cover the latest research progress, frontier theory and technology, and future scientific development prospective in various aspects of toxicology, as well as the practical application of toxicological knowledge and technology in the fields of environmental and ecological safety, and human health. The congress will offer once again a great atmosphere for discussion, scientific exchange and sharing ideas to ensure the further progress. We hope that you all enjoy the beautiful conference venue and take the opportunity to interact with your colleagues and the young scientists and students.

We wish to share with you an innovative and fruitful toxicology congress in Hangzhou.

Welcome to ASIATOX 2020!

Sincerely,
